Aged for 6 months in stainless steel and 3 months in bottle before release. Lively and floral, with beautiful red fruit flavors and a touch of spice. Tami Frappato Sicilia IGT, Italy
Light-bodied, soft & fruit-forward w/vibrant fresh red fruit notes, and a short-to-medium finish. Strawberries, lots of berries, with lingonberry and cherry leading the way with hints of lavender and herbs. Still young & slightly primary. $17 (CT: 2009 88pts in 6 notes, 2010 89 pts in 4 notes.)

Terredora di Paolo Aglianico Campania IGT, Italy
A medium-bodied dense ruby/purple red wine that makes attractive drinking as a young wine. In the glass the wine is a bright dark cherry red with spicy aromas of ripe red berries, violets and a slight gamey character. A young easy to drink style of wine it has soft berry flavours and soft subtle oak characters. Tommasi Ripasso Valpolicella, Italy
The nose suggests dusty raisinated fruit. The palate provides cherry fruit and a wonderful barnyardy flavour that gives the fruit tremendous depth. The wine generally has fantastic concentration. The tannins are very moderate and well balanced. Marco Felluga Collio Merlot, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
It has a deep red color with light garnet tones. On the nose it is fresh and fruity with scents reminiscent of red-berry jam and cherries steeped in alcohol. In the mouth, it is rich and harmonious with a long finish. $16 (CT: 2004 90 pts in 1 note.)

Tenuta Sant’Antonio Valpolicella Superiore Monti Garbi Ripasso, Italy
Rich dried fruits on the nose, along with plum, cherry, and tar. Leather coming through on the palate, as well as some cherry, dark plum, blueberry, tar, and spice towards the end. Medium, dry finish. Nice depth of flavors, good. $21 (CT: 2008 89 in 22 notes .)

Gulfi Carjcanti Sicilia IGT, Italy (white)
Pale yellow with green reflections, intense, big, fruity with undertones of green apple. Dry, harmonious, pleasantly tart, with finish of anise and almond. $22 (CT: 2004 87 in 2 notes, 2005, 90 in 1 note, 2006, 90 in 3 notes, 2007 88 in 3 notes, 2008 90 in 2 notes .)
